Where Rock & Roll Meets Content A.I.

I Want My Multichannel Content Strategy
In this episode of the Rock and Roll Content Show, we talk about how the MTV mega-hit "Money For Nothing" from British rock band Dire Straits was a shining example of multichannel content in the 1980s. You might be surprised by the lessons we can learn from Dire Straits when developing content for multiple channels in our own content marketing. Even better, you won't even have to play your guitar on the MTV.

Let's celebrate the music of that little ol' band from Texas, ZZ Top, and say thanks to Dusty Hill upon the sad news of his passing this past week, with a little whiskey from Texas, Devils River Bourbon Whiskey.

Revisiting Prince’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Guitar Solo
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame just put out a higher quality version of the 2004 performance of “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” featuring a bunch of great musicians, and Prince, who delivers one of the greatest live guitar solos ever.
It’s Cold Gin Time Again…
It’s not whiskey, but to welcome summer and to coordinate with my Rock and Roll Songs of Summer playlist, I decided to remove the seven layers of dust from my bottle of Beefeater Gin and have it on the rocks with some lime seltzer. After all, “you know it's the only thing that keeps us together.”
Reclaiming the “Song of The Summer” with These 12 Songs
These aren't official "songs of the summer". They're a list that I've put together with some of my favorite alternate choices from the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, and today.
Re-examining Greta Van Fleet with The Battle At Garden’s Gate (2021)
This site is about taking from the past, modifying, transforming, and updating to make something that works for the present day. Greta Van Fleet should fit that philosophy perfectly. They have all the right ingredients to create a band that I would love. And yet, there's always been something about them that just didn't sit well with me. The Battle at Garden’s Gate changes that. Find out how.
Maker’s Mark 46 Bourbon
I didn’t have a clever pairing to go with the new album Delta Kream by The Black Keys, which you can learn about here. I just went with a staple, my bottle of Maker’s Mark 46. Just like the album, it goes down easy and makes you feel good inside. Here’s a couple of reviews.
Looking into Hill Country Blues with The Black Keys
The Black Keys are back with an album called Delta Kream that pays tribute to some of the great music that formed and shaped their music from the start: Mississippi Hill Country Blues. Hill Country Blues differs from Delta Blues in a few distinct ways, but has been nearly as influential. Find out more that and about this new album.
Glenfiddich 14 Year Single Malt Scotch Whisky
The good thing about Glenfiddich 14 Year Single Malt Scotch Whisky Bourbon Barrel Reserve is that it’s really easy to drink. The bad thing is, it’s Wednesday afternoon, and it’s really easy to drink.
Liquid Tension Experiment 3 (2021)
Sometimes I want some good old fashioned rock and roll. Other times I want 2 hours of blistering, melodic, jazz-inspired progressive hard rock and metal featuring musicians that are so good they may be from another planet. That’s Liquid Tension Experiment.
A Return to Live Music with The Allman Betts Band
The Allman Betts Band 2021 tour stop in Omaha, Nebraska was the first live music I’ve seen in over a year. This was a perfect show to return to and the show fits into the Rock and Roll Reclaimed theme perfectly.
Woodinville Bourbon Whiskey
Woodinville Bourbon Whiskey is from Washington, its logo looks suspiciously similar to the Twin Peaks symbol, and it also tastes really good. Here are my non-review thoughts on this bourbon.
Chris Cornell: No One Sings Like You Anymore (2020)
Chris Cornell will be remembered among the great singers in rock and roll. Though I'm certain this won't be the last release we get from Cornell's estate, his latest album, No One Sings Like You Anymore, which just came out on vinyl, is, in my opinion, a fitting and appropriate final chapter to Chris' 30 year career.
Grand Funk Railroad: Live Album (1970)
Mark pays tribute to his dad on his birthday by highlighting an album that he tried to get Mark to listen to during his teenage years by comparing it to Metallica. Though not “like Metallica”, Grand Funk Railroad’s Live Album is a classic album full of great songs and inspiring vocals and guitar from Mark Farner that you should definitely check out.
